Project Manager Aerospace

A market leader in supply of complex aerospace systems are looking for a competent and pro active project manager with a proven background delivering long term design and development programmes to key metrics.

The Project Manager will be directly responsible for single or multiple projects ranging from 2M to 20M value during the development phase.

Management of cross-functional Project Teams, comprising direct and matrix personnel.
Execution and delivery of all projects within to agreed time, cost and quality.
Compliance with Life Cycle Management and business processes.Utilisation of project management tools to drive project performance, provide, status visibility and reporting, plus suitable management of expenditure and resources.
Management reporting internally to business stakeholders and to Customers.
Manage interface with the customer.
Consolidate Project resource requirements generated as part of the monthly project update cycle and quarterly business forecasting and budgeting process.
Organise, direct, motivate and provide leadership for the project team.
Seek to minimise the effects of change scope creep, ensure changes are formally processed.

Leadership & team management skills, ability to motivate & develop.
Expert level skill set in a all aspects of Programme Management including key tools and techniques including scheduling, cost management, change control, scope, resources, work breakdown structures, contracts and earned value.
Goal orientation and action-focused.
Good interpersonal skills (communication, motivation, persuasion).
Good facilitator/mediator able to resolve conflict.
An ability to develop team members and increase their efficiency.
Commercially aware.
Demonstrable financial management skills.

Relevant certification/accreditation in project management and/or degree in a relevant departmental function or technology.
Minimum experience of managing complex and challenging projects of similar size/scope, complexity and significant budget/spend responsibility through the full lifecycle.
Project Management experience within Aerospace sector preferable.
Experience of managing multi disciplined team, third party stakeholders and other internal functions.
Relevant technical degree or equivalent
Knowledge and demonstrable experience using key Project Management methodologies WBS, IMS, EVM, EAC
